DCS Community Board Member Vacancies 2026
The Department of Correctional Services is recruiting Community Board Members across multiple regions, including the Free State & Northern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga & North West, and Western Cape regions. This is a statutory board appointment rather than a standard job, paid at Statutory Board Remuneration Category D, Sub-category D1.
Applications close on 20 July 2026 at 15:45 and can be submitted online via careers.dcs.gov.za, by post, or by hand-delivery to the relevant regional office.
About This Opportunity
Community Board Members provide independent oversight within the correctional services system, drawing on backgrounds in criminal justice, community development or human rights. Because this is a statutory appointment rather than a salaried job, candidates should expect a governance and oversight role rather than day-to-day operational duties.
