An Electrical Engineer designs, develops, tests, and supervises the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, systems, and components. Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems and components using computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Develop specifications for electrical systems and equipment
- Perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing and installation standards
- Evaluate electrical systems, products, and components for efficiency, reliability, and safety
- Design and conduct research to test and analyze existing and new electrical equipment
- Develop manufacturing processes for electrical components and systems
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes
- Investigate failures or difficulties and recommend solutions

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Proficiency in CAD and electrical design software
- Understanding of power systems, control systems, and/or electronics
- Knowledge of electrical equipment and materials
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Mathematical aptitude and technical understanding
