Key Responsibilities

  • Design infrastructure projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects
  • Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors during the planning stages
  • Develop detailed project plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Test soils and materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer
  • 3+ years of experience in civil engineering projects
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, mathematics, and physics
  • Proficiency in design and analysis software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
  • Understanding of construction methods and materials
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
