Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated systems and control solutions
- Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and SCADA systems
- Develop Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) for operational control
- Design and program industrial robots and robotic systems
- Create and maintain system documentation, including technical specifications
- Test and debug automated systems and control programs
- Analyze existing processes to identify automation opportunities
- Evaluate and recommend automation technologies and equipment
- Develop and implement manufacturing execution systems
- Optimize existing automated systems for efficiency and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated equipment

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) preferred
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems
- Knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.)
- Experience with SCADA systems and HMI development
- Understanding of industrial networks and communication protocols
- Familiarity with instrumentation and control system design
- Programming skills for automation applications
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities
