What Does an Admin Assistant Do?
An Admin Assistant is the organizational backbone of any branch or department. In the context of VKB Mechanization, this person is responsible for managing a variety of clerical and support tasks that ensure smooth operations within the workshop and spares environment. Think of them as the silent engine behind the scenes — balancing petty cash, logging claims, processing deliveries, managing stock, and coordinating internal systems.
The ideal candidate is someone who’s not just good with numbers and forms, but thrives on accuracy, structure, and dependable service delivery. In agriculture and mechanization, timing and precision are everything — and that’s where an Admin Assistant comes in.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
- Prior experience in a workshop or spares environment is a strong advantage
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Willingness to work Monday to Saturday (6-day week)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Handling and balancing petty cash transactions
- Performing daily reconciliations and assisting with banking processes
- Registering, processing, and finalising claims
- Issuing GRVs (Goods Received Vouchers) and monitoring deviation reports
- Conducting and supporting stock-taking procedures
- Receiving deliveries from suppliers in line with company policies
- Communicating with internal departments and external clients to maintain high service standards
- Assisting with general office admin and performing ad-hoc duties as required
