Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Waiter will be responsible for a wide range of service, operational, and customer-facing duties, including but not limited to:
- Welcoming guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner and ensuring they are seated comfortably.
- Offering informed recommendations to guests on food and beverage selections, including special menus, events, or promotions.
- Ensuring plates, cutlery, and glassware are clean, polished, and in excellent condition before service.
- Setting up tables correctly with appropriate cutlery, glassware, and service items according to company standards.
- Monitoring dining areas, including floors, walls, tables, and service stations, to ensure high levels of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Assisting guests with special needs by following relevant service guidelines and ensuring dignity, comfort, and care.
- Organising menus while considering customer feedback, cost control, and seasonal availability of ingredients.
- Ensuring that all waiters deliver excellent customer service in line with company policies and hospitality standards.
- Processing payments accurately, including cash, credit card, and debit card transactions.
- Managing billing procedures to ensure accuracy and professionalism at the end of service.
- Controlling menu pricing and ensuring all prices are current and correctly displayed.
- Building long-term relationships with customers by providing friendly, accurate advice and exceptional service.
- Evaluating customer feedback and responding appropriately to improve service quality and guest satisfaction.
- Maintaining high personal hygiene standards and presenting a professional appearance at all times.

Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification (essential)
- 5 to 6 years’ experience in a similar waiter or hospitality service role
- A culinary qualification will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory
