This unique three-year programme is designed to transform talented graduates into exceptional reward consultants through hands-on experience and comprehensive training.
The Reward Academy represents a distinctive opportunity to join a high-performing team solving complex reward and remuneration challenges for leading companies across South Africa.
By the programme’s completion, participants will be equipped to engage confidently with C-suite executives on sophisticated reward-related matters, backed by newly developed skills in strategy, analytics, communication, and organisation.
Applications close on May 30, 2025 (Reference Number: PWC250407-1).
Programme Overview
The Reward Academy offers an immersive learning experience where graduates develop expertise through practical client work while receiving specialized training. You’ll work directly with prominent South African organizations, gaining invaluable insights into executive compensation, remuneration structures, and strategic reward approaches.
Throughout your journey in the programme, you’ll engage in various aspects of reward consulting. This includes collecting and analyzing remuneration data, conducting in-depth market research, and benchmarking executive and non-executive compensation packages. You’ll develop proficiency in building financial models that guide critical pay decisions and learn to analyze and optimize reward structures to align with organizational strategy, regulatory requirements, and evolving market trends.
A significant component of your role will involve delivering impactful reports and advice to leading clients, supporting client proposals, contributing to marketing efforts, and participating in thought leadership initiatives. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to broader discussions on ESG, fair pay, and societal impact through cutting-edge research in this rapidly advancing field.
Your Development Path
PwC is committed to your growth and development. In addition to learning through hands-on client work, you’ll participate in specialized in-house technical reward training programmes and gain access to our world-leading soft skills curriculum. This comprehensive approach ensures you develop both the technical expertise and interpersonal capabilities necessary for success in consulting.
By the programme’s conclusion, you’ll be prepared to advise C-suite clients confidently across a wide range of reward-related matters, positioning you for a successful long-term career in this specialized field.
Who They’re Looking For
PwC prioritize talent, attitude, and passion for learning over extensive experience. If you’re enthusiastic about numbers, strategy, and business, we want to hear from you.
The minimum requirements include a relevant completed tertiary qualification (BCom, BSc, or similar), South African citizenship or permanent residency, strong numerical and analytical skills, and a proactive, client-focused mindset with excellent organizational abilities.
While not essential, we value additional experience in remuneration, performance, or data analytics, as well as advanced Excel or data skills. However, we encourage all qualified candidates to apply, even if you don’t meet every criterion.
