About the Position

This is more than a nursing job — it’s a front-line leadership role in primary health care. The successful candidate will be expected to run the clinic independently while ensuring high-quality, ethical, and patient-centered care. You’ll be the go-to professional for daily walk-ins, health consultations, vaccinations, and minor health interventions.

The position demands clinical confidence, business sensibility, and strong community engagement. Your days will involve both healthcare delivery and operational management, from conducting tests and patient assessments to stock control, record-keeping, and leading health campaigns.

Detailed Responsibilities

🔹 Clinic Operations:

  • Manage day-to-day functioning of the clinic
  • Book locums when required
  • Maintain and update electronic health records
  • Ensure clinic stock control and manage the cold chain
  • Submit accurate reports on stock, finances, and patient volumes

🔹 Health Services Offered:

  • Lifestyle screening (cholesterol, glucose, BP, etc.)
  • “Well Baby” services and immunisations
  • Reproductive health and adult immunisations
  • Minor ailments treatment and wound care
  • Phlebotomy (blood sampling)
  • Referrals to pharmacists or specialists when appropriate

🔹 Community Engagement & Education:

  • Plan and lead Health Days and awareness events
  • Build networks with local healthcare providers and stakeholders
  • Educate patients on health, hygiene, weight management, and treatment adherence

Required Qualifications & Experience

 Educational Credentials:

  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • 3-year Diploma in Nursing or a 4-year Nursing Degree

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ practical nursing experience
  • Special focus on Community Health, Primary Health, or Midwifery
  • Familiarity with Unisolv or Allegra systems is a plus
