Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Shift Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Takealot’s warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Managing Outbound Operations
- Ensure all customer orders are shipped by 5 PM daily to meet delivery targets.
- Oversee picking and packing productivity, ensuring company targets are met.
2. Cost and Resource Management
- Monitor and control labor costs by aligning staff allocation with workload.
- Manage packing material usage to optimize costs and minimize waste.
3. Workplace Efficiency & Innovation
- Ensure the warehouse meets high housekeeping standards.
- Continuously review and improve internal processes to enhance productivity.
4. Team Leadership & Development
- Set clear goals for team members and monitor their progress.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
📌 Education:
- Grade 12 – National Senior Certificate
- A Supply Chain or Logistics Higher Certificate is preferred.
📌 Experience:
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a logistics or distribution environment.
- Experience in people management, decision-making, and problem-solving.
- Ability to manage change in a logistics operation.
📌 Technical Skills & Industry Knowledge:
- E-commerce experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and budget management.
- Familiarity with LEAN principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Understanding of performance management and industrial relations.
📌 Work Environment:
- Must be willing to work shifts, including weekends, in a 7-day operational environment.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team.
